Nutrition for kid is important for their development and growth. When your children are young, one of the greatest challenges is to get them to eat right.
Vegetables provide essential nutrients for both the adults and the children. However, most kids don’t like vegetables as they are not as tasty as pizza and hamburgers. They take their own sweet time to finish their vegetables on their plates. At times, they may just leave them on the plates after finishing their meals.
As caring and health conscious parents, you should introduce vegetables to your children early. Expose your children to wide choices of fruits and vegetables, which help them to eat more as they grow up. Avoid dressings if possible especially for salads. You can also mix the vegetables with their favorite foods. If they are still fussy, I suggest that you chop the vegetables finely and mix them with their food. It works for me and they don’t complain.
When it comes to nutrition for kid, some believe that you should give vitamin and mineral supplement to your children. In fact, they don’t need it. As long as they practice healthy eating habits, they should receive sufficient nutrition for their health. A single meal cannot determine your child’s health but your child’s eating pattern can.
Some parents make a wrong assumption that high sugar intake is responsible for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). They believe that foods that are rich in sugar such as candies, gums, cake, and ice cream can make your children hyperactive and irritable. However, this assumption has not been proven medically.
As parents, you want the best for your children. Don’t give in to their requests for unhealthy foods. Establish proper nutrition for kid early. You can always lead by example. This means that you need to practice what you say. Let them see how you enjoy eating vegetables and fruits and they will learn from your example.
